According to product material,Flat disc wheels are divided into: Aluminum oxide sand cloth , calcined Aluminum oxide sand cloth , blue calcined sanding cloth, zirconium corundum sanding cloth, coated sanding cloth, ceramic sanding cloth, etc.
According to the application, the flat disc wheel is divided into: alumina red sand flap disc for ordinary metal polishing, calcined flap disc for stainless steel polishing, and ceramic coated flap disc for copper and aluminum polishing.
Flat abrasive cloth wheels are divided into 40# for coarse grinding, 60#80# for general grinding, and 120#320# for fine grinding and polishing.

6 inch flap disc

For most paint removal you can start with an 80 grit abrasive. You can use any of the aluminum oxide, zirconia, or ceramic for this. Once a little more than half of the paint appears to be removed, we recommend switching to 180-220 grits.

Flap discs are good for removing heavy weld seams and excess material while providing a long service life: For general use, the recommendation is a 60-grit ceramic flap disc. For greater speed and stock removal, a Type 29 conical is the best choice.

Flap discs for wood: Flap discs are great tools for working on wood. The flap discs designed for use on wood are similar in nature to the ones designed for use on metal. You can use aluminum oxide grits for wood applications.
